Three decades playing the blues

Ben Prevo is a guitarist and vocalist, originally from New York, who has combined influences of country, rock, jazz, blues & psychedelia into an unique melange.  His material is varied — vocal and instrumental selections – covers and original compositions — all delivered with integrity and soul.

Over the past 30 years this unassuming musician has created a name as one of Europe's most respected blues guitarists.  Prevo learned his trade as a side man for some established artists in both America and Europe and he brings many of the influences he was exposed to along the way to his own entertaining brand of the blues.

Over his long and varied career, Prevo has had the honour of performing with the likes of Levon Helm, Rashied Ali, Jerry Gonzales, Chuck Leavell, Benny Mardones, John Hall. Jerry Jemmott, Jaco Pastorius, Juma Sultan, Pee Wee Ellis, Ace Frehley, Jorma Kaukonen, Chris Spedding, Brian Downey, Leo Barnes, Jerry Fehily, Liam O Maonlai, U. P. Wilson, Lefty Diz, Lowell Fulson, Noel Redding, Public Enemy, Mick Ronson….. as well as many ‘lesser known’ but equally fabulous musicians.

Now embarking on his fourth decade as a professional musician, Prevo has performed in venues and halls across both US and Europe.  From the dive bars of New York to the clubs of Texas, from the pubs of London to the main stages of The Gaiety or The Olympia in Dublin, from Crested Butte Wyoming to the Hard Rock Cafe in Bucharest, Prevo knows how to read an audience and deliver up the goods.

His original work as a guitarist, vocalist and composer is daring and genre-bending.  He brings honesty, integrity and simplicity of the blues to a varied repertoire of songs and instrumentals.  Prevo's ability to draw so effortlessly from so many sources constantly proved to be the strength behind his set.  Even when he departs from his original material, he adds unique phrasings and voice — fused with jazz and funk and even flavors of psychedelia — that breathe new life into classic tunes from Dylan, Hendrix, Hank Williams or Jimmy Webb.

Prevo's ability to draw so effortlessly from so many sources constantly proved to be the strength behind a set that will delight all types of audiences.
